It’s not difficult to take great pictures of your products, even if you have limited resources. I do the majority of the product photography for my Etsy shop on my iPhone. The key is having a good setup. See my setup below.
All you need is a well lit area (I use a corner between two windows), a large sheet of heavy weight paper (I use bristol series paper), and an iPhone.
This setup helps create a nice, clean, and simple look for all of your product photography.
Ironically, just after I posted tips for creating front page treasuries, Etsy announced that it is doing away with treasuries on the front page. This has left many Etsy sellers in shock and dismay. They do not like the layout that is replacing the old front page layout because it is too cluttered, messy, and not aesthetically appealing. They also don’t like that it doesn’t feature treasuries (a core staple and trademark of Etsy) enough. Below, I am posting two mock up suggestion layouts for a new front page and a new handpicked items page that I think may help resolve both issues.

New item available in my Etsy shop. I’m back with new Summer-inspired crafts, and I will be working on a new book, “The Semi-Organized Home” My house is in dire need of some clean up and organization. So, look for new posts focused on that topic.
This September 14th, my work will be in Westgate’s Art in the Park family festival. I will have my polymer clay birds on display along with some of my silkscreened baby onesies. To see more of my work, please visit my etsy store. And, if you’re in the Columbus area, make sure you check out this very nice family event.
